National Policy Brief
GermanyGerman national policy brief
This policy brief focuses on the insights gained during the German international conferences held in Freiburg on 28th of September 2023 under the umbrella of the EU Erasmus+ KA3 project SIATE (Social Inclusion of Adults Through Entrepreneurship – https://www.siate.eu/), which involves fives countries: Denmark, Italy, Germany, Ireland, and Norway.
The SIATE conference held in Freiburg, Germany gathered 11 distinguished expert presentations from both the public and private sectors on a national and international scale. The conference revolved around four key focal points:
- General Perspectives: The first aspect of the conference focussed on the broader topic of
entrepreneurship education. Discussions critically examined the roles of both the state and institutions
in creating opportunities for marginalised groups. - Dealing with disadvantages: The second important theme of the conference revolved around dealing
with disadvantages. It was emphasised that it is crucial to recognise and use the skills and experiences
of the target group by applying a ‘real life learning’ perspective in Entrepreneurship Education (EE).
Without this perspective, there is a risk of unintentionally perpetuating the cycle of underprivileged.
